Dorkbot started in New York City in 2000 as a casual meeting of "people doing strange things with electricity." By spring 2006 similar groups had been independently established in nearly 50 cities around the world. I will talk about the creation of dorkbot, its subsequent spread, and ideas about its future. I will also share some thoughts on why dorkbot has been so (accidently) successful.Related site: http://dorkbot.org/
