Maker Faire

Lunar Society: You Can Be A Rocket Scientist!

Type: Maker Table/Exhibit
Program Area: Science

Day/Time: 12:00 AM

Location: Fiesta Hall

A static exhibit of model and high-power rockets built by members of LUNAR (Livermore Unit of National Association of Rocketry.) LUNAR members will be on-site to discuss the rockets and how attendees can build and fly their own rockets. In addition to the rockets, we’ll have video of local rocket flights as well as a variety of material available discussing the hobby and LUNAR.

Make-It-Take-It:

LUNAR will conduct Make-It & Take-It rocket building for Maker Faire attendees. Build a real-working model rocket that you can fly up to 800 feet! This is a family-friendly event – LUNAR members will be there to assist participants. Builders younger than 10 require parent participation. (All youth require adult supervision.)

Rocket Demo (if site is available):

Watch LUNAR members launch a variety of interesting model rockets that we’ve built and that you can build too!
