Celebrating Clay: 40 Years with the Boulder Potters Guild

The Boulder Potters Guild, a nonprofit arts cooperative with more than 70 members, celebrates its 40th anniversary with a show and reception at the Boulder Public Library.

The show, Celebrating Clay: 40 Years with the Boulder Potters Guild, runs Oct. 17 through Nov. 29, displaying ceramic work created by current and past guild members.

The guild will host a grand opening reception in the library’s Canyon Gallery on Friday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Although the reception and show are free, the guild will hold a cup and mug sale during the reception as a fundraiser for Community Food Share – Boulder and Broomfield.

The guild, which was founded in 1969 by eight women who had been students at the city of Boulder’s Pottery Lab, will tell its history using photographs of people, documents and pots.
