Gorilla Glue

Gorilla Glue is a two-part glue that works on everything: stone, wood, metal, concrete, you name it. The strength is easily comparable to JB-Weld, but the second part is water, so you only have to keep one bottle on hand. Also needs no pre-mixing; just moisten the surface and apply. It foams up and fills gaps, then hardens but stays sandable. Just keep it away from your dog; apparently pets find it delicious. They also make an excellent tape called Gorilla Tape.
Available at most hardware stores, the internet, and even some art supply stores.

- Not as strong as yellow wood glue

Although this glue claims to be the "toughest glue on planet earth" it is not as strong as simple yellow wood glue such as Titebond and is much more expensive. With access to an Instron test machine in grad school I conducted a set of double cantilever specimen debonding tests that showed the yellow glue to be both stronger and tougher than Gorilla glue. Gorilla glue's foaming action could possibly result in superior bonds when using some materials, but not with wood such as the maple samples used in my tests. FYI.

- two parts?

Every bottle of gorilla glue I've used over the past few years comes in a single bottle of one part. The directions recommend moistening surfaces if they are dry, but I've only found that necessary when it is really dry out. The humidity here in the swamps of central Ohio is usually enough...
My only complaint is that it doesn't work well when it is really cold out. In those conditions I usually reach for Titebond III.
