My Favorite Pens
Right now in terms of pens I'm digging the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners and the Le Pen by Marvy from Japan. The Pentel Sign Pen is nice for more of a marker feel; the line fattens over time. Oh, and I love the Hard Point Pen; I think it's made by Faber Castell/Sanford. For nibs, I like the Japanese G pen by Zebra.

if I may be so nerdy...
For calculations: a Pelikan demonstrator. It's see-thru so you can see the ink run down. Plus it's got a gold nib with just the right amount of give. See them here: http://www.nibs.com/PelikanDemonstrators.htm
For notes and letters:
An old Esterbrook with a 9968 nib. Get em on eBay! Thick, wet line, slightly oblique but not melodramatic like a calligraphy nib. Everything looks good with this pen.
