Man, do I love this thing! It's a metal, ashtray-like dish crammed with brass shavings that allows you to quickly and safely clean your iron's tip without lowering its temperature. All you do is stab the tip into the shavings to clean it.
It has reduced the amount of smoke my soldering generates, making me feel, after long soldering sessions, a lot less like I've got the mental acuity of Jessica Simpson. No brain-cell-loving solder-wielder should be without one.

I just buy your standard stainless steel scrubber designed for cleaning pots from a local housewares store. They're dirt cheap and more or less fit into my soldering stations sponge pit.
