The Brownstone Birdhouse is an old idea from my notebook. In the past, I made a brownstone dollhouse, but this time I used my CNC to make the brick pattern.

I used leftover walnut panelling and cut through the veneer layer into the lighter layer. This makes the brick pattern appear to have mortar between it. The brass flag poles become the birds’ perches at each “apartment”. This will live under my covered porch in the country, so it will not be exposed directly to the elements. Enjoy!

Materials:

  • Medium-density fiberboard
  • Walnut paneling
  • Oak hardwood
  • Glue
  • Nails
  • Polyurethane

Tools:

  • Table saw
  • Band saw
  • Nail gun
  • Route

Great idea, and looks beautiful! Aren’t the openings a bit too large for small birds? They might not nest if the openings are large enough for predators. I’d love to see a follow up video of all the apartments occupied!
