Would You Stick A Raspberry Pi In Your Ear?

Somehow, I doubt it.

Or rather, the tech isn’t quite there just yet. It’s entirely possible that the “Raspberry Pi Q+(X/1) Where X=Fish” due out in 2031 will be small enough to fit in your ear canal, but for the time being it simply wouldn’t be comfortable.

That’s what USB headsets are for! They come in a variety of styles, many have microphones built-in, and of course USB is pretty much everywhere in some form or another these days, including two ports on the incredibly popular Raspberry Pi Model B (of which there are over 3 million in the wild), and four ports on the recently upgraded B+.

It should be noted that this Universal Translator project was designed with the B, not the B+, but there’s nothing to suggest it wouldn’t work the same. But you can always leave comments here or over on the project page should you run into issues with the recommended libraries and accompanying hardware with the B+.

Ĉu vi pretas fari? I said, Are you ready to make? Watch the video below to learn more about this incredibly simple and fun Weekend Project.
