Maker Faire.

These tips came from our Associate Publisher, Dan Woods:

  • If you're flying, I recommend flying into SFO or OAK, as you can take BART http://www.bart.gov/ to SF relatively inexpensively. The SFO to SF run is $5.50.
  • If you stay anywhere on the Peninsula, from SF to San jose, then Caltrain http://www.caltrain.com/caltrain_map.html is a great option for getting up and down the Peninsula and to Maker Faire. Use the Hayward park Station. It's a 5 minute walk to the San Mateo Fair grounds. Walk up 19th, turn right on S. Delaware, 2 blocks and you are there. Here's a map
  • I might also point out that you can transfer from BART to Caltrain at the Millbrae station, so if you are going to the Faire directly from the airport or staying in the East Bay, say Berkeley, you can BART to Millbrae then train it to Maker Faire.

"I'm trying to get up to the faire from San Diego. I'll be taking Amtrak up to the San Jose station, where I assume I can take the Caltrain to hayward park. if I'm wrong, mind giving me a call at the number above? cheers! And call me anyway, if you get bored on your travel. I've got 11 hours to get through! hehe"
