The Juicebox is an embedded computer designed to form the core of a simple ebook/MP3 player device. This little guy can do a lot and here’s a site that has pretty much everything you’ll need to start hacking at it. For $50 or under it might be a good platform for projects, but I think the Gameboy SP has more things you can do with them (We have a great article on this in issue 02!) Link.

The Juicebox is cool, but what really got my attention was the E Ink display. Are any of these available for hobbiest yet? He mention A2 and Stingray, but I haven’t been able to track down a source…anyone?
Three choices come to mind re. E-Ink technology. The first is to hack a Sony Librie. The second is to contact E-Ink and ask if they have a development kit of some kind. The third it to wait until Polymer Vision ramps up production.
I want to buy that ebook reader! I agree with the other post that what caught my eye was the E-Ink display.
