Images-28 Looks like VCR is dead, time to build an automatic cat feeder of it (MAKE 03) – Blockbuster has virtually banished videocassettes from all its outlets, with the exception of some children’s and Spanish titles. [via] Link.

  1. Phillip — I’ve just been thinking the same thing. Hollywood Video — has 5-8 current titles in VHS — rest are DVDs — at least here in Marina Del Rey. I figure I rented my last VHS from them last week. I have a VHS player/TV combo in my office and of course DVD in living room/bedroom/desktop/laptop. The rest of the VHS tapes (even as recent as last month’s current titles) are on sale for $1.99 to $2.99 spewed on tables in the center aisles. And to think I remember when buying a tape was $59.95 or higher until the Pepsi/Top Gun promo deal and some other retailers/fast food deals like McDonalds brought to price to an affordable $19.95. Hmm….Wonder if it’s possible for some MAKE geek/fan to pop out my VHS player in two of my TV’s and pop-in DVD players–be nice to not have to buy separate units to sit on top of the out-dated TV combos? Readers let me know js.
