Alejandro in the Sony Librie Yahoo group released a new reader app – “I am “shipping early” a version of the DJVU reader for Librie lbhooked devices. As the previous demo, it is a .tar.gz file at Installation is the typical lbhook; copy the whole structure to a memory stick and try. I have problems with the keyboard controller, so I have introduced some delays. Any insider information is welcome. Besides, there are a “prefetch next page” mechanism which precludes fast advancing. If you press a key and nothing happens, count slowly to ten and press again.” Link. See our previous how tos on the Sony e-Ink reader (Japanese version).

  1. Thanks for the link!

Early adopters should seriusly think about editing the bash scripts, lbdjchoose and lbdjbrowse. In the first one they should put some splash page and some kind of menu to choose which book they want to launch. In the second, they should echo the $PAGE into some file /tmp/mnt/$BOOK.bookmark or so (it depends a little on how the $BOOK parameter is passed to lbdjbrowse) and cat this file into PAGE on startup of the browser, so they will not need to advance again from page 1 (a painful process). Also, if the diode blink is drstracting you, simply sleep a little more before killing the sony-libro processes.

Feedback is welcome, either directly or via the librie yahoogroup email list. Lets see if we can do a 0.2 release during the weekend. Again, thanks very much for the pointer and by the magazine (I suspect the postmen steal my printed copy here in spain, but just reading the blog I am happy)
