Here’s how to make “light graffiti” out of disposable digital cameras – once the camera is modded it will display images/words automatically and run for about 2 days. [via] Link.

$10-15 and 45 minutes of work for one device? Forget it.
Why not just skip the whole camera dismantlement and get some LEDs and batteries? You can stuff the LED in a film container and tape the stencil display (or a printed transparency) over the end of it. Get a blinking one and it’ll last far longer than a couple days. It’ll even be waterproof if you use a transparency.
With the low cost and ease of manufacture you can split up one message into multiple lights so that viewers have to pause to put it together.

A few LEDs aren’t going to get anywhere near the brightness to project an image any worthwhile distance. And without the optics it’s not going to project *anything* – the stencil image will blur to nothingness within a short distance.

This looks really cool, but the site appears to be down. Luckily, enough of the pages, including the circuit diagram, are all available on the internet wayback machine at: http://web.archive.org/web/20050316013319/http://www.hactivist.com/flashpoint/
