As dorky as it looks, it’s actually not a bad idea- all the advantages of a flash bracket without the extra mass on the camera. There’s a guy who shoot pictures of the Critical Mass rides here in toronto who uses a bicycle-helmet mounted flash.
actually, it’s not just the weight on the camera – putting the flash on ones head increases the distance between flash and lens, thereby reducing the danger of red eyes.
On the other hand, I prefer a modern wireless flash…
