Here are some Popular Electronics covers and cover complete stories/article from 1955 to 1975 – “Popular Electronics was started by Ziff-Davis in October 1954 as a magazine for students and experimenters. It became the “World’s Largest-Selling Electronics Magazine” and proudly listed the circulation figure on the Contents page, (240,151 in April 1957 .) In later years this data was in the back of each years January issue. In 1965 Popular Electronics had a monthly paid circulation of 410,000. In Janurary1972 Electronics World was merged into Popular Electronics.” Link.

  1. Outstanding! I read this and other electronics magazines avidly as a youngster (late 1960s) and now have a nearly complete collection of Popular Electronics from Vol. 1 No. 1 to about 1968, after which it becomes spotty. Those early issues are full of fascinating material. Later on, in the 1990s, I wrote articles for the “new” Popular Electronics (owned by Gernsback).

    Who else remembers Carl and Jerry stories?
