In each issue of MAKE we feature a Howtoon – What are Howtoons? Glad you asked – “Howtoons are cartoons showing kids of all ages “How To” build things. Each illustrated episode is a stand-alone fun adventure accessible to all. Our Howtoons are designed to encourage children to be active participants in discovering the world through Play-that-Matters — fun, creative, and inventive — and to rely a lot less on mass-consumable entertainment.” – Link.
MAKE 06 – Home Made Ice-Cream… without a refrigerator! Lower the temperature of ice with salt and use it to freeze your own ice-cream! – PDF & Link.
Maker parents – print this out and put in the funny papers if your kids read comic strips on Sunday mornings!

I made this for a potluck this weekend and it came out great with rave reviews.
It also made me realize that ice-cream is basicly cold butter with a bit of milk and sugar!
