Homemade coffee roaster – The Uglyroast

Derek has a site devoted to making homemade coffee roasters, including the latest “Uglyroast”, he writes – “Here’s my homemade roaster in its current configuration. It’s motor-driven and fan cooled. It roasts up to 500g of beans, and as little as 100g. It’s gas-fired, and lifts out to dump the beans into the cooling tray. By using gas, I have very sensitive temperature control, which gives me great control over my roast profiles. An average roast is about 15 minutes, plus 2 minutes for cooling.” [via] – Link.

It looks like you could throw the whole coffee tree in there, and it’d spit out super fresh brew AND mulch at the same time ;)
