The Press Democrat tunes in to the next gen of crafters – “Yes, it’s true. Sewing is cool again. Be they post-college hobbyists or fashion-crazed teenagers, sewers find that wielding a needle and thread is just as cool as Razr phones. On the heels of the knitting craze and “Project Runway” – the Bravo reality show that transforms working-class fashion designers into overnight superstars – it seems everyone these days fancies himself a designer. “This is the most talented generation I’ve seen,” says Stonemountain’s Suzan Steinberg, a fourth generation fabric merchant who’s noticed an increase in young sewers. “They have focus, desire, a love of fashion and the technical abilities.”” Thanks Tim! – Link.
