Crochet Coral and Anemone Garden with sea slug
LA’s Institute for Figuring will be offering a sneak preview on Tuesday of their crocheted Coral Reef (which we posted about here), soon to be exhibited at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.
Following the return of the “Kelp Garden” sub-section from the “Confini” show at the MAN Museum in Sardinia, three new sub-sections of the reef will be traveling to Pittsburg to the Andy Warhol Museum, as part of the forthcoming exhibition “Six Billion Perps Held Hostage: Artists Reflect on Global Warming.” (We get to share the space with Andy’s disaster paintings.) On Tuesday February 20 (the eve of departure) the reef will be at home for viewing from 6-9pm. We invite you all to see this woolly celebration of marine wonders and to ponder the horror of the rubbish vortex that is growing in its wake. This is a sneak preview and a taste of what we’ll be showing at LACE next year.
