I’m interested in potting electronics in hard plastic; the resins mentioned in the TAP videos all shrink substantially during cure, which will most likely damage electronic circuitry embedded in the resin.

Anyone know if there are resins that cure hard but don’t shrink much?

Here’s a list of suppliers I found a while back:

    http://www.alumilite.com/
    http://www.hobbycast.net/ (division of http://www.freemansupply.com/ )
    http://jgreer.com/
    http://www.polytek.com/
    http://www.smooth-on.com/

What sort of shrinkage do you think is acceptable? Alumilite White is .004 in/in, Freeman Repro Slow is .0009, Smooth-On TASK 6 is .0006, and Polytek 15-3 is .0002.

Oh and Freeman Supply has some darn nice videos as well.

To Phillip, thanks for posting about the updates to this video collection. I’ve found them to be a very useful resource.
