Some good news and encouraging news — a MAKE: NYC group is forming, there is a meeting zero on 9/27 (before the Handmade music night event in NYC) but it’s already full in record time! You can stop by if you want (space will be limited for standing room only too) or just show up @ 8pm here’s the note from the MAKE NYC gang. Oh, this isn’t an official MAKE user group – Matt and Ryan formed this on their own with our help/blessing – just like the MAKE: Phily folks! If you want to start a group in your city let us know!
Make:NYC Meeting 0. Dive into the New York City DIY scene on Thursday, September 27th, at Make/ETSY Labs! The first ever Make:NYC Meeting includes:
6:30PM: Electronics Lab – 2nd Floor
Learn some basic electronics theory, design and implementation with the 555 Timer Lab. Only minimal skill is required. One dollar buys you a seat, instruction, and all the parts and tools you’ll need to build a 555 timer-driven circuit. Create with the help of your fellow Makers and get the knowledge you’ll need to advance your own DIY projects. Only 12 seats are available for the lab and you MUST RSVP if you’re going to purchase a seat.
RSVP For the Meeting Here! Click the checkbox if you want to participate in the 555 timer project.
8:00PM: Show and Tell – 6th Floor
Meet your fellow NYC Makers and show off your creations! Bring your gadgets, gizmos, sketches, ideas… anything you’d like to put in the spotlight. We encourage NYC Makers to collaborate on and discuss DIY projects. If you’re planning to attend, drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org. Let us know if you have a project to share and if you’ll need anything to help show it off.
