My brother and I built a canoe for under $30 using mostly materials rescued from dumpsters. We called the project our “$30 White River Challenge.” On Labor Day we attempted to paddle the junkboat from Muncie to Noblesville, Indiana, a 50-mile trip. We didn’t make it nearly that far, but there’s always next year. And the junkboat looked totally sweet, if I do say so myself.
