Gareth @ MAKE writes:

Our Benevolent Overlords at O’Reilly Media have announced that future issues of both MAKE and CRAFT (starting with volumes 12 and 5 respectively) will have 30% recycled paper content (up from the 10% currently being used). As Dale Dougherty put it:
“We’re always encouraging our readers to make the most of what they already have–to find new uses for things they might otherwise throw away,” explained Dale Dougherty, Editor and Publisher of Make and Craft. “So when it comes to recycling–why not take that advice ourselves?”
Yay trees, breathable air, and conserved power! Yay O’Reilly Media!

Congratulations on going green with the use of 30% post-consumer content processed paper. An alternative option I would recommend you consider is using FSC-certified paper. FSC stands for Forest Steward Council (http://www.fscus.org/). FSC-certified paper comes from forests managed for long-term sustainability.
The FSC system is working to shift the market to eliminate habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous peoples and violence against people and wildlife that often accompanies logging.
and FYI — The last Harry Potter book was printed on FSC-certified paper. FSC guarantees that 100% of the paper comes from sources working for the long-term health of our forests.
