About three years ago,I bought a USB data cable to use with T610 mobile phone.I can’t remember what is model just know it is made in China.But now I have a new model mobile phone and my USB data cable not used at all.So I want to modify it to use with my microcontroller projects that use rs232 communication like a USB to RS232 converter.If you have this cable and want to modify this article may help you.

The USB-to-serial cables that are older cellphone data cables are really great. The WRT54 router hackers discovered this a while back when putting Linux on their routers. I discovered this trick via the NSLU2 hackers when I did the same thing for “Roombongle”, a USB to Roomba dongle.
One of the comments on the Roombongle page notes you can get FutureDial cables (a brand of usb-to-serial data cables once sold at Radio Shack) for $6.99 at markdown alley. I’ve seen similar cables for similar prices on Ebay too.
