HOW TO – Make Pins from Old Glasses

Inspired by a strange handmade brooch she found at a thrift store, KB of Kokoleo reverse-engineered it and came up with this fun tutorial, which uses old eyeglass frames to make one-of-a-kind pins. I think the peacock heads or lemon pins are my favorites.

    Craft recycling is good and all that, but glasses are a very valuable commodity globally and are MUCH better recycled as vision correction for people who can’t afford them than as jewelry. Use old sunglass lenses for this project, not corrective lenses, which ought to be donated to the Lion’s Club or other group. Just a thought …
