HacknMod has compiled some how-tos on turning audio in light shows:

We’ve got three tutorials to help you learn how to convert audio signals to LED light. One tutorial lights the frosted edges of plexiglass. Another uses signals directly from a sound card. Which ever method you choose, the result will be stunning.

    Did you actually bother to go and look at the three Instructable projects linked to in the article or are you passing judgment based on the YouTube video, which was used here only as an illustration to the posting, not something to stand on its own.
