  1. I would love to win this book. This year I’m finally getting back into crafting after spending 5 years in grad school, another couple of years in massive debt and going through a divorce, and slowly rebuilding my life in all directions. I’m finally in a place where I can spend time and energy (never mind a couple of bucks) on doing something fun and “frivolous”. My favorite jewelry has almost always been things I make or modify myself. I would love some help getting kickstarted back into the Land of Crafting.

  2. Why do I like to make jewelry? Because it allows me to be creative, work with wonderful colors and textures, and have something beautiful to wear – or to give – when I’m done. It’s a time where I don’t have to focus on the things I “need” to do – like cleaning or work. It allows my mind to wander, and ideas to come in to the quiet places. In a sense, it’s a spiritual event. :D

  3. I love making jewelry and passing it on to friends and family. It is an extension of me, and the love & joy I have for that person.

  4. i would love to win this book, for one because I live about 5 minutes away from Ritual Adornments :D I’ll have to stop by for that book signing and some lessons! how cool!!

  5. I like to make jewelry to show my geeky side, while being girly at the same time. In the past 9 months, I’ve overhauled my personal life, because I realized I wasn’t happy and that I wasn’t “me.” I’m now with the love of my life (who happens to be my best friend), living in the city I adore, and I’m working on getting back to things that are really me and no one else. Being a geeky girl is a HUGE one, and something I wouldn’t have even admitted a year ago. Making jewelry helps me express my true self, and then lets me show it to the world when I wear it!

  6. I would love to make more jewelry, but I don’t have a lot of inspiration. That book looks amazing!

  8. I inherited my mother’s bead collection and am forever looking for inspired projects to use them in!

  9. because I have pretty much no accessories due to the fact I’ve been semi-unemployed since the week before Christmas and can’t justify paying $10 for a necklace when the energy bill is $50.

  10. I like to make Jewlery, because I get to make exactly what I want. Colors, sizes, themes, its all up to me!!

  11. I have been beading for a while but need some inspiration. This books looks really interesting.

  12. Ooooooh! I love jewelry by local artists like David Aubrey, but can’t afford it most of the time. I always think to myself, “Hey! I’m a crafty gal! I can make that!” With this book, I actually could :)

  13. Hi! I’ve been a silent, daily reader for a long while now, but when i saw this fantastic book give away, I decided it’s time to break the silence.
Why would i love this book? Because I’m bead CRAZY! Been gathering beads for years now, and although I’ve tried my hand at making some necklaces and bracelets, something usually goes terribly amiss, and they break after I’ve only worn them once. I need guidance….professional help (in a crafty way, of course!), and believe this book is the answer!

  14. Do you have to be a grown up to win? Because I’m 10.
I like to make jewelry because it’s fun and cool. I also like to give my mom presents.

  15. So, I took the handmade pledge, and have vowed to only give handmade (either by me or someone else) gifts from now on.
And then, I realized I have a lot of friends, and they all have birthdays. And, I have to expand my repertoire a bit, or I`m gonna start to loose my crafty steet cred.

  16. I love to make because it allows me to create the things I see in my dreams. Nothing commercial ever seems to fill the bill.

  17. I would like to learn how to bead because I really like to be as multicraftual as possible. I love renaissance craft people.

  18. I love to make jewelry. Plus my dds love to as well. It’s a family affair. I make jewelry to give to family members, for myself and to sell sometimes, so I can have more art supplies! Wonderful book.

  19. I have committed to giving handmade gifts, and this will greatly increase the reach of my handiwears :)

  20. Making jewelry is something I do often and absolutely love. I wear jewelry everyday and of course, it’s extraspecial to make it yourself. I have entered a thousand and one of these blog contests and never won so that’s another reason this would mean a lot to me!

  21. Thanks for offering this book up for a drawing. I would love to win and dig out my beading pliers and box of old vintage beads and get started. Thanks Becky

  22. Beading is something that’s never really clicked with me, so I’m always looking for THAT APPROACH that will finally resonate.
Also, I would love to be able to make jewelry for my daughter. I don’t wear jewelry that much, but she is like a magpie, and this would be a fun (and cheap(er)!) way to keep her collection growing.

  23. i love sparkly things, and i love crafting. to me, making jewelry is about making beautiful things that speak to me and others – preferably, sparkly beautiful things. i like to feel like i am adding beauty to the world.

  24. I love to make all things, including jewelry. Having better instruction than I currently have would be absolutely wonderful.
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  25. I would absolutely love to win this book! I’m a huge fan of beading, and -love- to read up about new tricks and techniques, and love to get inspired!
Beading lets me show my creative side, as well as bring joy to others with beaded gifts.
Most of my beadwork is given to family and friends, along with being used as prizes for draws, fund raisers and contests. I do sell some of my beadwork, but -all- of the profits go directly to local charities(animal shelter, soup kitchen, providing safe and healthy activities for disadvantaged children in the community). I believe this book could be just the inspiration I need to really kick things up.
Being a student and avid DIYer, I probably wouldn’t be able to afford to purchase a copy of this book. :( But I have no shortage of supplies at the ready!
I want to wish everyone good luck and hope some lucky beader who deserves it gets their treat!

  26. I love making jewelry because I like being creative, I enjoy wearing it and giving it as gifts. Recently I’ve been making knitted wire bead bracelets. I have lots of beads and I’d like to try other techniques.

  27. I would like to win this book because I want to learn how to make my own bling! and since my boyfriend doesn’t seem to be getting on the ball and buying me a ring , it looks like i’ll have plenty of time to make my own.

  28. I’m dying to learn how to bead! In fact, I almost bought a pound of mixed glass beads the other day and the only thing that held me back was the thought that without any knowledge of what to do with them, they would wind up yet another UFO….

  29. I love making jewelry but don’t have the wherewithall to come up with nice looking designs. so this book would be perfect for me. plus i like to work quickly, that whole instant gratification thing. :D

  30. I would love how to make beaded jewelry! My mom is so good at this, and always makes me some for birthdays and christmas. I would love to return the favor!

  31. It was one of my favorite crafty hobbies when I was a teenager, and I have been wanting to return to it lately. (The plethora of fab bead stores in PDX is a big motivation!) This book looks like it would help jumpstart my return to this fun craft.
    ~Sarah

  32. I have a ton of beads and notions, but no notion of what to make (pun intended). I’d love a hip how-to book!

  33. I’d love to win this book because I’ve tried making jewelry before, but was never able to get it right. Maybe this book could help me (and prevent me from various accidents!).

  34. I need a reboot in my jewelry making! I think Beadalicious would give me just that inspiration. I’ve let my beads and my tools get a little dusty, and really want to get back to beading!

  35. Last week my sister and I took a beading class. It was a great way to relax from a long week, enjoy each other’s company, and learn some great techniques. We both vowed to spend more time together creating jewelry, and purchased some tools at the end of class. Next stop is the bead store! This book would give us some great ideas to pour over.

  36. I make jewelry but it tends to be conservative. I love the way Sonya mixes unexpected beads and pieces together in this book. I need some new inspiration to mix up my usual style.
    Thanks!
    Lisa

  37. My daughter commented with surprise in her voice that the bead necklace that I made in about 1 hour “looks professional!” Hard to beat that for having fun and ending up with a wearable product.

  38. I would love to win this book in order to learn news ways to make jewelry with more pizazz than I currently make. I like making my own jewelry because then I can own something unique, but I my techniques need to move beyond the basic – this book would be the catalyst!

  39. I knit because I want to have items that are not common. I’d love to have similarly unique beaded accessories to go with my favorite knits.

  40. I’ve been dabbling in beading for the last few months. I’d love to have this book for more inspiration…

  41. I’d like to start making my own jewelry as part of the process of trying to live a greener life. Finding ways to recycle existing jewelry parts (beads, chains, etc) into my own work of art for myself and to share is something that motivates me to learn jewelry making techniques. I think this book would prove motivational as well as a source of inspiration.

  42. I’d like to start making more jewelry – I’d love to have custom accessories to match my clothes!

  43. I like to make jewelry because it feels good to wear something that I’ve made myself, and because I like to make personalized gifts for friends and family. I’m always looking for new ways to expand my skills and express my creativity, and I’ve found working with beads to be both soothing and a lot of fun.

  44. I love making jewelry because for starters, it lets me be creative. I can’t not create. And I love jewelry because you wear it, it is so expressive. I like to be different and unique and making my own accessories really lets me do that. Plus, I don’t have a lot of space for crafting and small projects like jewelry are perfect!

  45. I have lots of beads, but I’ve been low on inspiration … this book looks great!

  46. Jewelry making can be about making items that match our own taste, bits of personality that we can wear and show around, almost certain that they are unique and made by oneself.

  47. I love working with beads and making jewelry because the projects have way more instant gratification than my knitting or crochet projects. A quick pick me up.

  48. Why do I like making jewelry? Because you can be creative, unique and well….thrifty :D

  49. It seems that everything around us is mass produced. THis mass production means that there is no story or connection to the items in our lives. I think that being creative and making your own jewellery or clothing gives life to them. It means that it wasn’t mass produced in a factory somewhere far away by someone who doesn’t really care about who will end up wearing it. I like making my own jewellery not only because it means that I can be creative but it also means that the piece of jewellery means something.

  50. i love making and wearing jewelery becuase you can be wearing the most plain and boring outfit. But add a necklace & braclet and suddenly you are transformed. Plus there is nothing more realxing than tip[ping the contents of a bead box in the floor and turing them into something original and fun

  51. I love making jewelry because the beads and stones remind me of candy. I love sparkly things, and I love making things. I would love to have this book!!!

  52. I am a sea glass and small rock/stone beach comber every chance I get. Most recently we were in Pt Reyes National Seashore, where I found the most amazing stones and pebbles. I am looking forward to crafting my sea glass and stones into jewellery (and in fact have already wire-wrapped some of it into pendants).

  53. I’ve been making jewelry for over 3 years now, and I really love it, but I think I need to get new inspiration… It feels so good to make pretty things that people stare at… ;-)

  54. I love to make jewelry so that I can be unique. No one else will have what I have.

  55. I’d love this as I need some direction and inspiration. I’d love to make something unique to go with my clothing, while still having good quality materials that won’t make my break out from allergies.
Not to mention it just looks like an awesome book.

  56. I love wearing and making jewelery. My love affair with hand made jewelery blends with my other love … travel. Instead of mugs or fridge magnets … I collect jewelery from every country/state I go to that represents the place.
I will love to get this book and expand my collection even more.

  57. I would love to have this book. I have lots of beads and reusable material laying around waiting to be made into beautiful jewelries.

  58. I would love to make jewelry because I don’t care for much of the stuff I can buy in stores. I love browsing the bead aisles in craft stores, but I never know where to start! Jewelry making is one of the crafts I’ve not yet dabbled in. ^_^

  59. Please put my name in the drawing for this book and then please draw it back out again as a winner!

  60. Wow, this looks like a killer book. I make jewelry (and lots of other stuff) because nothing makes me happy like making stuff makes me happpy.

  61. I like to make my own jewelry because I can match the colors and style of an outfit perfectly. I also really enjoy the speed at which I can whip something out. Downside? The cost. Beading is expensive.

  62. I am pretty new to jewelry making, and am really excited about all the things to learn how to make! I could really use this book… I hope to grow my skills enough to start selling jewelry at craft fairs and help make a little money to help pay for art school. Even If I never made anything that was marketable, being inspired and taught to take my craft to another level would be such a reward.
This book just looks so good!

  63. I would love to have this book- I have been taking really great books (on all sorts of projects) out of the library for months, but since I have two small boys, I only get to drool over them for a few minutes at a time before I take them back. I would love to have a neat book like this to gather ideas from, and to better use the few moments of “me” time that I have! It is great to own my own book so that I can write notes and ideas, and paste in pictures and other odds and ends of my own. The librarians generally frown on that sort of thing!
I have a ton of odd supplies, but my mental energy and creative mojo have been really low since my second son was born several months ago-I have very little time for myself, and when I do, I run out of ideas pretty quickly. My husband is very good about giving me time, so when I do have a break, it would be really nice to have an neat ongoing project to look forward to.
Many thanks for the offer- I am sure that both books will go to a good home. I am off to peruse the archives while I feed the baby…

  64. I’d love to win this book because I love jewelry, and it would be TOO cool to make my own!!! Thank you so much for the chance!!

  65. I love making jewelry and anything crafty. I am inspired by people like Sonya who take such joy from making things beautiful and interesting. Making jewelry is especially wonderful because anyone can wear it and it lasts forever! It makes amazing gifts!

  66. I’m really trying lately to be more of a girl… I’ve always been tomboyish and excessively pragmatic. Jewelry seems like something utterly impractical that I should try…

  67. For the first time in many years I have time to myself, and I’ve been getting really crafty lately. Jewelry-making and beading is something I haven’t tried since I was little, but I’ve been getting inspired by a lot of other people lately and am dying to try myself. Plus I just received a bunch of old jewelry from my grandmother that I would love to try and redesign.
Thanks for this great contest – this book looks so inspiring!

  68. For the first time in many years, I have down-time to myself to destress, and I’ve been getting really crafty. Jewelry-making and beading are things I haven’t tried since I was little, but I’ve been getting really inspired by other people lately and am dying to try it myself. Plus I just received a bunch of old jewelry from my grandmother that I would love to try and redesign/recycle.
Thanks for this contest – the book looks so inspiring!

  69. I’d love to win this book as so far beading is one of the few crafts I have yet to get into, and I know my husband would just LOVE for me to find yet another way to burn through our money ;)

  70. to sell them in a craft bazaar this summer. I would be honored to receive this book and get new ideas for jewelry making.
    Thanks for your generosity.
    Jenni

  71. OMG! I really want this book. I read about it on another blog about two weeks ago and I went straight to Sonya’s site and read all of her awesome project ideas and watched her vids on YouTube. This woman’s on fire! I would love a copy of her book. I’ve been designing jewelry since I was in 4th grade! :o) Thanks for the op.

  72. ‘Cause no one is going to give it to me! He seemed like such a catch back before we married, but I forgot to get him to sign the ‘must give stones’ pledge.
Also, living on an isolated farm, there’s not much chance to find jewellery, or inspiration. I need the book to utilise the beads I have collected in previous lives.
    Thanks. :-)

  73. How lovely. I like to make jewellery because I am a magpie and love all things shiny and colourful.

  74. why do i make jewelry? the same reason i knit. it’s my zen. it makes me whole.

  75. I would love this book. I inherited a lot of bead jewelry from my sister in law but it is not my taste. It would be great to be able to use the beads and make new jewelry for myself.

  76. I don’t make jewelry very often, and it often isn’t as beautiful in the final product as what I have in my head. This book might help me my technique and inspire me to take it up a notch. … It is fun to reply to a comment of, I love your necklace, with, I made it!

  77. I see so many pretty, creative beads in the craft stores and bead shops that I would love to start using, but I don’t have know how to make jewelry yet. I would love to be able to make my own bracelets!

  78. I love making my own jewelry because it is a creative way and often cost effective way to show my personality through accessories. I can create a piece of jewelry how I like it; not have to look through stores and just accept how a piece is made and buy it. Also, in these economic times, making jewelry is a huge mone saver than buying all different types of jewlery. I couldn’t have a closet full of jewelry on my budget!

  79. I have so many beads that I have collected over the years saying “wow! look at the color/shape/shine of these! I want them!” and usually I don’t know what to do with them. I have most of the stuff I need to make jewelery, I’m just really not sure how to do it, or do it well. Some instruction would be great! And then I could start using up my stash!

  80. I love to create projects for kids parties and girl scout meetings. We use them to do fundraisers or just for a fun party game. I am a very young Mom and love crafting.
    The book looks fabulous.

  81. I would love to learn how to make jewelery. I buy jewelery regularly and use it as a way to express myself. I consider myself a creative person and would love to express that through my jewelry.

  82. The cover alone makes me want to win this book.. I love the idea of incorporating vintage beads with new beads. It always adds a certain flare to the jewelry. I would love to win this book and get into my creative side of making jewelry. Thanks for the chance to win.
    eandgmom@gmail.com

  83. There are SO many reasons why I love to make jewelry… I love the satisfaction of making something amazing myself. I love wearing my own work. I love when my customers, friends and family wear my jewelry and it flatters them. When they tell me that they receive compliments on a piece and it makes them feel good. When someone has a piece made as a special gift and they tell me that the receiver loved it! That is always good too. :)
    I hope I win!!

  84. Oh and btw Sonya’s book looks amazing. Her designs are unique, fresh and “fabulicious”….right up my alley. :D

  85. A friend gave me box full of beads and wire and findings – and I’ve no idea what to use them for. If I don’t win the giveaway, I’m sure I will get my public library to track down this book for me anyway!

  86. beading is like making wearable art! love how you can translate ideas into tangable jewellery and how every piece you hand-make is unique.
really hope i get the book! i’m really interested in making wirework rings!

  87. I used to make beaded baskets and jewelry often, and now I’m just working on getting back into the swing of things.

  88. I love to make jewelry because i love the instant gratification! it is quick, it is easy! It is a great way to save money and accessorize to make the perfect outfit.
