  1. I’ve done this a few times. Try using fewer strands of floss (or even one) for more intricate designs; it’s both easier to do and cleaner-looking when finished. Chain stitch on less complex designs makes for a nice, bold look. French knots also work well, but use three or more strands of floss for a nice, plump knot. Lastly, use a very fine needle, finer than the hole you produced when piercing the card. If you use a heavier gauge needle, it opens up the hole more, and ‘curls’ it outwards, depending on the direction of your stitch.
