Here’s a light-up bike vest that lets people behind you know how fast you’re going. It uses electro-luminescent wire in the shape of the numbers to give a nixie-tube-esque appearance. Via Ladyada.

Not enough digits (motorcyclist).
This is a very striking design, and a cool project!
But, I’m a little confused about the numeric display. No ‘8’ at all? No ‘0’ (or 2, 4, 6) in the right (units) digit? Does the system only display odd speeds (at least above 6)?
