I’m in awe of this teeny knit snail shell cozy over on Resurrection Fern’s blog. That’s one toasty warm snail …

I too am in awe. Why would anyone do this? Just because one CAN do something, does not mean they SHOULD do it. It’s frightening the depths that crafters have sunk to.

I feel the same way about those little outfits people put on their dogs; this little snail probably doesn’t know the difference, and it’s way cuter.

i wonder to what heights CJ’s crafting has soared. perhaps she would like to share so we can express our opinions on her work.

I can understand the wondering of why someone would do this, and honestly I love that this is completely unexpected and almost absurd … and entirely charming. One of the great beauties of crafting is not needing to have a practical purpose behind a project. Creations like these that spark interest and display whimsy don’t need to be judged on practicality – their purpose comes through in the joy of creating of the project and in the surprise reactions of folks when they see it. Regardless of judgements on the usefulness of the project, respect should be given for the work that went in to it, as well as to the crafter who created it. Thanks!

What a fantastic photo, the combination of artistic elements really shows the attention to detail…as though the cozy were not whimsical enough. I’m actually just loving seeing a snail out of his shell with the winter snow outside his window. Nicely done, and thank you for sharing it.
