Starting at 9:43am EST 1/31/2009 Google says every site is malware… including Google. A few makers emailed me asking why every site was “malware” – looks like something went really wrong, or really right (for someone).

It’s pretty clear what happened – Google became self aware and decided the web is mostly harmful – including itself. Suicidal Skynet…

Update: 30 minutes later it seems to be fixed – I guess John Connor zapped the machines, long live harmful sites!

  1. What a helluva thing to wake up to. It’s fixed now but it had my blood boiling earlier. Called my site staff and apprised them of the situation in the hopes that they could soothe the ruffled feathers of our web site visitors.

  2. I have seen this on Google news and other news networks all day today and am sick of hearing about it. Big deal, they had a glitch. First big one in…. um…. a long time? The fact that they found it and fixed it in an hour is pretty amazing for any company, especially one growing the size of Google.

  3. Google awakening to the truth at last. It is harmful for computers. Well we must understand one thing, when it comes to internet Google is the big brother. It is watching our browsing and other patterns behind our back.
Google is harmful but we cannot do anything about it.
