Mystery Box assembly video

I made this short video to demonstrate the assembly of the laser-cut Mystery Box. While there is an instruction sheet packed in with the kit, this seemed like a nice way to show the particulars.

Mystery Box Kit – The Mystery Box is a clever puzzle box made by our very own John Park, host of Make: television.

Not much of a puzzle. Just pull out all the little parts. Bleh.

Once completely assembled the little pins are tricky to figure out. If you pull on the larger ones (50% chance) they don’t move at all. It’s a clever little puzzle box.

I think if I’m going to make a mystery box, I’m going to make it so it HAS to be destroyed to solve the mystery. Glue the sucker closed, that way there are some consequences to finding out the mystery. Ups the ante on the “Do you REALLY want to know?” question.

You can certainly use some wood glue on the Mystery Box!
