I Love Macarons By Hisako Ogita
Whenever I’m at the Ferry Building in San Francisco, I can help but stop at Miette and pick up a couple of macarons to take home, in addition to other treats. The macarons always held such Parisian glamour and beauty being displayed in large clear glass jars on top of the counter — perfectly eye level but way too tall for anyone other than the shopgirl to reach in and grab some. On a visit to Chronicle Books one day, I was introduced to a beauty of a book called I Love Macarons by Hisako Ogita. A Japanese pastry chef, Ogita brings her experience on baking to this delicious book that’s filled with pages and pages of beautiful photos that will make you drool. You’ll learn through all the step-by-step recipes and photos how to make your own taste of Paris at home.

Our friend Tami at Fete a Fete has an excerpt from the book, how to make basic macaron batter. Check it out!
