Kirsten Hassenfeld’s Blueware

A couple of years ago, I posted about an amazing paper installation by Kirsten Hassenfeld I saw in New York; it was an elaborate temple made entirely from white paper. Her latest work uses the same material but has a completely different look. Blueware references blue and white ceramics, used everywhere from Delft to Morocco, and is as solid as Offering was ethereal. I’m amazed at the effects she can get from paper! My family was soaking in some deep love from Portland, Main and this show just added icing on the cake. Even for our 11 month old son.
