Designed for beginners, the LED Dice kit from the Maker Shed comes with everything you need to make your own ‘Electronic Die’. Just tap the completed Dice kit on the table and the LEDs light up, displaying a random number from 1 to 6. After a short period of time the LED dice will go into ‘sleep mode’ and wait patiently until the next time it’s tapped. The Dice kit is easy to solder together, making it a great project for anyone wanting to jump into the kit-making arena.

My God! Don’t you see?!? This dice goes to 7… That’s one more. Most (quadrahedral?) dice can only go to six, so if they want to go higher where do they go? Nowhere! This one goes to 7, that’s one more.

    Thank you. That is all.

Although there are 7 LEDs, that is what you need to replicate the 6 variations of dots to represent the 6 sides of a regular die. The middle LED is needed for 1, 3, and 5. I guess you could hack this to go higher than 6, though :o)

Now we have a little bit of everything for makers, crafters, and budding scientists, from Arduinos to sock monkeys to chemistry sets .
