I thought I’d take a brief break from my obsession with holiday cheer in honor of someone else’s obsession–namely Andrew Chase, who makes incredibly detailed, accurate, and articulated metal sculptures. I’ve seen them before (over on Make: Online), but this horse just blows my mind. I grew up riding horses and this truly gets the spirit as well as the mechanics across. Check out the photos, especially the animated gif at the end that shows the horse galloping!

The best choice is low end MIG (metal in gas) welder which will cost about $150-200 if you rent the gas tanks ($10-15/month) or add $200 if you buy. A MIG welder will let you work more metals, including aluminum, of a greater range..
