Mast Brothers chocolate in Brooklyn makes small batch chocolate, highlighted in this Cool Hunting video. They call it “craft style,” which here in Brooklyn means all the men involved in the process are sporting beards, right?

  1. I just saw this video, the process looks tedious, but I’m sure it’s a labor of love. I was impressed with the personal hands on feel of the business. There was only one thing that would keep me from purchasing the chocolate, however, and that’s the brothers lack of coverage of their facial hair. That can’t be safe, can it? The potential for a stray hair landing in my chocolate bar, gross! I understand that small businesses don’t have the strict guidelines as the larger factories but one starts to think when seeing the video.
    Thank you

  2. I also thought of the beard hair issue but it wouldn’t prevent me from buying the chocolate. I love the fact that it’s made with only the cocoa bean and the personal manufacturing of it. For them to be able to make it into a thriving business amazes me.
