Just saw these in a magazine and, although have never tried a pair, I am intrigued. If, like me, you’ve spent a lot of time fumbling with cheap tweezers, I might humbly suggest that, like me, you will discover that a bit of extra scratch spent on a quality pair will prove well worth it. And if, like me, you’ve ever ruined a pair of nice tweezers by tossing them carelessly in your luggage, you may, like me, also be curious about these folding precision tweezers from pocketweez.com. My personal favorite is Uncle Bill’s tweezers, they’re cheaper, just as precise, simpler and lighter. Apparently they’re now “Sliver Gripper Tweezers” by El Mar, Inc. And they have a key-chain clip that works well. Good simple design and less than 10 bucks. Also, a great deal more precise and effective than the old wishbone type of tweezers. I think they’d probably compare well with these, unless you really want that machined billet look.
Quick critique, never actually having used these myself:
One of the uses of tweezers is for negotiating grabbing tasks in a confined area. The tips need to pick up small things, and fit into them too. (try fishing the end of a piece of small-gauged wire out of some tubing with those guys you might be in trouble.) Here the big tips look restrictive.
That said, the fact that the tips are beefy is also a plus… in the exact same usage scenario I bent the tips of a pair of tweezers and couldn’t get the required pressure to deform and hold the wire insulation. (They were pretty soft though… decent tool steel would have done the trick)

The Silver Gripper tweezers mentioned above are great, but you know what’s even better? Taking a pair of the Silver Gripper tweezers and sharpening them down on a benchstone until they’re unbelievably pointy and precise. The best part is, it’s super easy to do and only takes ~15-20 minutes.
