Today Google’s homepage celebrates the 100th birthday of artist Mary Blair. You may not recognize her name, but you will surely recognize her art. Blair was a concept artist for Disney, and her colorful, freewheeling style is evident in many Disney animated films. Her coup de grace is the It’s a Small World attraction at Disneyland.

For crafters, Mary Blair’s adorable characters and patterns provide inspiration for all kinds of projects, from soft sculpture to quilts to stained glass. Happy birthday, Mary Blair!
