Kit-A-Day Giveaway: TV-B-Gone Kit + Red Blinky POV + Minty Time Clock

We’re giving away amazing kits from our new Make: Ultimate Kit Guide EVERY DAY — thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, including MakerBots!

To celebrate the release of our latest publication, the Make: Ultimate Kit Guide 2012 (and its companion website), we’re giving away at least one of the cool kits reviewed in the issue each day during the holiday season.

Today’s giveaway is a blinky kit trifecta containing the TV-B-Gone Kit, Red Blinky POV, and a MintyTime Clock (a combined $61 value.) It’s a fun grouping that will keep you busy during the holiday break. You can use the TV-B-Gone to turn off your neighbor’s new LCD TV, the Red Blinky POV to spread holiday cheer, and the Minty Time Clock kit to make a binary time Christmas tree! Have better ideas? Leave them in the comments!

Like all our giveaways, these kits are reviewed in our Make: Ultimate Kit Guide 2012 and reviewed on the companion website:

  1. Nice.  Thanks. and I appreciate your generosity.  It is cool that you guys are doing these.  These are some great projects.

  2. Someone should make the smart-phone-b-gone so I can have a conversation in a bar without someone playing on their phone.

  3. Sure wish I’d had a TV-B-Gone in the sports bar during the Bengals/Steelers game.  I’d have been the most popular guy there!

  4. My in-laws have started a tradition of drawing names and making an xmas present for the person who’s name you draw.  I had something else in mind, but this would be even better.  :)

Mauris a mauris nisl, eget auctor neque. Suspendisse potenti. Vestibulum ante ipsum primis in faucibus orci luctus et ultrices posuere cubilia Curae; Quisque quis lorem ipsum, nec fermentum dui. Suspendisse potenti. Integer tincidunt, sapien sit amet egestas placerat, neque leo tempor dolor, pharetra tincidunt lectus metus a urna. Nunc vel ultricies leo. Sed et mauris arcu, in lacinia mi. Donec rhoncus ornare elit, et blandit libero cursus at. Quisque tempor lacinia leo, et auctor mi lacinia vitae.

  6. TV-B-Gone is a good back-up plan to, “pardon me, but would you mind turning that down?  Thanks.”  Or, if you’re Captain Kirk, “Excuse me! Would you mind stopping that damn noise? “

  7. I’m wondering if there are other uses for a TV-B-Gone, example:

Macbook / Pro volume-rise-inator, where a TV b-gone would take over a macbook’s IR port.

  8. This giveaway is idea is cool.  Hope I win.  I have a request for winners.  Post an instructable or 2 on the things you make with your kits!

  9. Tv-B-Gone was one of the first kits I ever soldered, and I have a pov-kit-based brain machine.  These, I would give to a friend. (I’d keep the binary clock, tho. ) :-)

  10. Totally looking forward to going out for lunch, waiting for high noon, TV-B-Gone-ing all the screens at the restaurant, and waving around LED message “eat yur fud!”.
