Tool Review: Schröder 9″ Hand Drill

Tool Review: Schröder 9″ Hand Drill

I picked up a pair of these German-made drills from Garrett Wade: the 9″ Mini Hand Drill ($25.50) and the 12″ Larger Hand Drill ($46.50), which has an additional wood knob opposite the crank handle. DIY Chevron Box

DIY Chevron Box

Form meets function with this easy way to turn any simple box into an eye-catching metallic chevron container. My best friend is getting married and I am throwing her bridal shower this weekend. One element of the shower I wanted to have is a wish box, a place friends can write down a supportive wish for the couple-to-be and place it in the box to be read later. The wedding is such a special and celebratory day, but marriage lasts a life time it is nice to have those well-wishes in a place you can re-read them in times of need. I wanted the box to be in the modern aesthetic of the wedding so went with the chevron pattern, and chose the platinum silver to match the bride’s ring. This would also be a great addition to the living room or a lovely way to store supplies and class up an office.
