Chris describes himself as:

a caddywampus individual who very thoughtfully stains various surfaces with ink, paint, or other extremely toxic materials.

Judging from the examples of his work that can be found on his site, that is a pretty accurate description. Chris, who operates as Noosh Studios, hand carves wood blocks that are then used like a giant stamp to create t-shirts, stickers, and prints.

Not only is his artwork simply fantastic, he always draws a crowd at the Atlanta Maker Faire when he exhibits. The hands-on nature of carving and pressing the artwork really resonates with people. They crowd around to watch as Chris slowly releases the imagery from a plain wood block, one chiseling movement at a time. As his images reveal themselves, smiles are seen on every face in the crowd.

While we know that the people attending the Maker Faire Atlanta in October will love his work, they’re not the only ones. Since Chris started his work in 2009 he has been given several awards with the most recent being the Best in Show at the Atlanta Printmakers Studio member’s exhibition. We’re proud to have him showing off his skills at Maker Faire.

I get ridiculously excited seeing people make things. I just want to revel in the creativity I see in makers. My favorite thing in the world is sharing a maker's story. find me at CalebKraft.com
