If you’ve got a big test coming up, and plenty of time to prepare for it, then you might consider hand-embroidering your notes, because it’s hard to imagine ever forgetting something that you spent so much time tediously crafting! That’s what globetrotting crafter Madeline Scharpf is doing by attempting to teach herself the modern Japanese writing system called kanji by embroidering each character in a series she calls The Kanji Project.





These endearing results look great so far, but considering that there are estimated to be about 50,000 kanji, she’s definitely got her work cut out for her!
