If you’re a geek with chilly fingers, then Sweden based knitwear designer and charity organizer Therese Sharp has almost certainly come up with a knitting pattern for a pair of mittens that are right up your alley. So far, her patterns cover themes that include: Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Sherlock, and even Firefly!
Although she charges around five dollars for her mitten patterns, she does offer a free pattern for a quirky pair of Superman-inspired socks. She also runs a charity called Hjärtekatten, which provides hand-crocheted toys to children who’ve been hospitalized for heart defects. You can contribute to the charity by crocheting a toy with this lovely “Heart Cat” tutorial!
