Call for Makers: Rome Needs You!

You’ve heard the saying many times; “When in Rome, do as Romans do.” Well, what the Romans are doing now, is preparing for Maker Faire!

This will mark the 3rd year for Maker Faire Rome, the largest European Maker Faire, and like any other Maker Faire, they want fresh Makers to fill the event. As Massimo Banzi, creator of the Arduino and curator of the Faire, says in the video above, they are interested in not only locals, but entrants from everywhere.

Want a taste of the event from last year? Check out these articles:

You can see that the types of projects and people are extremely varied. Whatever you’re interested in, there’s a good chance it will be there.

The maker booths haven’t all been filled yet though! They’re still looking for people to show off the cool things they’ve made, and share the projects that get them excited. To apply, go to their call to makers page.

Not sure if you’re making something they’re interested in? Here are a few topics that they’re searching for:

  • 3D printing
  • 3D scanning
  • Arduino
  • Art
  • Artisans & New Craft
  • Biology
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Drones
  • Education
  • Energy & Sustainability

  • Home Automation
  • Internet of Things

Is your thing not on the list? Apply anyway! Sometimes you don’t know what you’re looking for until you see it.

Senior Editor for Make: I get ridiculously excited seeing people make things. I just want to revel in the creativity of the masses! My favorite thing in the world is sharing the hard work of a maker.

I'd always love to hear about what you're making, so send me an email any time at
