Snack Smart with a DIY Hanging Snack Tower

If you’re looking for a family-friendly snack-time solution that can satisfy both your sweet tooth and your salt cravings — or maybe you’d like to have multiple options at the ready for picky kids — you’re going to love this project.

Turn mini storage containers into a smart way to keep your tummy happy while you’re out chasing those fabulous summertime adventures with this DIY hanging snack tower tutorial from David at Comic Con Family!

As a person who’s intimately familiar with the horrors of being hangry, I’ll definitely be adding this idea to my to-make list. A single snack tower definitely seems preferable to my usual stash-bars-and-Ziplocs-in-various-spots-in-my-bag method of snack organization.

Note: Obviously, with drilled holes ruining the tight seal of the tupperware, this container hack isn’t ideal for longterm food storage or for treats that aren’t dry. To avoid encountering stale or otherwise undesirable items, it’s probably best to pack only what you can expect to eat in a single day.

  1. Why not just glue to the string to the top of one lid and then glue the bottom of one container to the top of another? Then you get the stacking without the loss of the air seal.

    1. Mostly because you then change it into a chain of links limited by the holding strength of the top lid, instead of the tensile strength of the cord running through them all.
