At the heart of the Brooklyn Navy Yard is New Lab, a space that incubates some of the most creative hardware/software/architectural/ lighting/ecological teams in New York. And at the center of New Lab is Mitchell Joachim and Terreform ONE. When I think of making spanning disciplines, technologies, and materials, Mitch’s work is inspiring, instructional, and mind-stretching. Its also an invitation to what’s possible, and all the new techniques, ideas, and materials available to solve urban problems today.
I spent some time with Mitchell a few weeks ago. In this clip he shares his work, his enthusiasm and thoughts on the growing maker movement — and Brooklyn’s central role its New York renaissance. Learn more at MakerCon in New York on September 24th.
