Tonight at 9:00pm ET/PT, TBS premieres America’s Greatest Maker, a new reality show where 24 teams of Makers compete for $1 million.

Each team pitches their wearable or smart device project that uses the Intel Curie Module to a panel of judges that include Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, life hacker and media producer Kevin Pereira, and expert entrepreneur Carol Roth.

Krzanich has said he takes his role as judge very seriously. “Whether [the contestants] win or whether they lose, I don’t want them to walk away discouraged. There was a thousand people behind them that didn’t even make it this far, so what they’ve done just to get here is amazing,” Krzanich said in an interview.

It sounds like we can expect to see some great projects from the teams. Throughout the competition the Makers refine their original idea through each round, so viewers will get an inside look at how their products develop with each iteration.

Each of the final five teams get $100,000 just for entering the final round, and the season’s winner takes away $1 million.
