    Not surprising it would seem organic. The inventor modeled Velcro after burrs that stuck to his socks during walks. A decent explanation:

    I would guess that a closeup of a burr stuck to a fabric would look very similar. – There’s an ok picture of a burdock hook here – it might look familiar:
