This book, “The New Crewel” by Katherine Shaughnessy was at Shannon Okey’s booth at Bazaar Bizarre at the Maker Faire but was sold out by the time I got to the booth on Sunday afternoon. I ended up buying one of her kits and just bought the book recently on Amazon. I couldn’t put the book down and read it from cover to cover the moment I opened it out of the box. Not only are the patterns modern, colorful, and fresh, I loved reading about the history of crewel embroidery and how Katherine herself got started.
